Beamer is a daughter of Spectacular Bid whose Hall of Fame trainer, Bud
Delp, called "the best horse to ever look through a bridle." Bid won 26
of 30 starts, including the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes. He
retired with earnings of $2,781,608. Our Spectacular Beamer retired
sound with 7 wins and $57,663 in earnings and is now a part of our
broodmare program. She will be bred in the spring of 2011.
Spectacular Beamer used a five furlong turf dash to open
the Remington Park leg of her ‘07 campaign. Although she
trailed through much of the August 10 event, she improved
her position in the stretch to finish fifth and picked up a
check for $443.
Returning to the track after a lay-off, Spectacular Beamer
ran in a five furlong race at Will Rogers Downs on March 25.
After stalking the pace for most of the dash, she showed
no response in the stretch and finished fourth, which was
good for a $739 deposit in Beamer's account.
On the 2006 meeting’s final night of racing at Remington
Park, Spectacular Beamer went postward in a five furlong claiming
test. With a rail position, the mare steadily advanced from her
eighth place start and then put in a strong bid in the
homestretch. Eventhough, she was no match for the eventual winner
and finished second in the November 28 event. The bookkeeper wrote
a $3,630 check for Beamer’s good effort.
