Joy was a
useful mare who ran 31 races and was first 2 times, second 7 times, and
third 4 times with earnings of $45,890.
Joy is now
part of our broodmare program and has produced the following:
2010 filly - Joy Will Dance (Major Leaguer)
2011 - Bred to Waupaca. Due 3/14/11
After
shipping back to Oklahoma City, Joy Of The Dance used a seven and a
half furlong turf event
to make her ‘08 Remington Park debut on August
22. After running seventh of eight through most
of the event, she made a mild rally to finish fourth.
She collected a check for $827 for her effort.
Shortening to five furlongs on the Lone Star turf
course, Joy Of The Dance ran behind all rivals for
most of the July 24 event. She finished well in
the stretch for fifth place and a $375 check.
In her last outing, a seven and a half furlong grass
test at Lone Star, Joy Of The Dance settled after
being brushed at the start of the July 13 event. A four-wide bid
in the stretch failed to yield results
and the mare finished seventh, good for a $100
check.
On June 22 Joy Of The Dance ran in a seven and a
half furlong turf event at Lone Star Park. Again,
the mare was presented with challenges in the
form of a four-wide run in the first turn, as well as
being blocked in the final eighth mile. Joy Of The
Dance performed well to finish second, good for
a $2,540 check.
Joy Of The Dance, once again, showed her heart,
grit and determination when finishing third in a
seven and a half furlong turf race on May 31.
She was bumped at the start of the Lone Star
Park event, bumped again soonafter, forced to
race wide and then blocked in the stretch and
forced to alter her course. Eventhough, the mare
finished well to collect $1,353 for third place.
On Lone Star Park’s Kentucky Derby Day card Joy
Of The Dance went postward in a seven and a half
panel grass race. She stalked the pace in second
throughout the event and battled fiercely in the
stretch with the leader, but came up a neck short
at the finish line. She earned a check for $2,760
for her performance.
After breaking inward and angling in early, Joy Of
The Dance raced behind all rivals for the first half of
a seven and a half furlong turf event on April 18.
Improving to fifth when she was three-wide
turning for home, she finished fourth, good for a
$810 check.
Stretching out to a mile on Houston’s turf course,
Joy Of The Dance again showed fortitude through-
out the February 8 race. Racing five-wide early
and then four-wide in the stretch, the mare still
gained ground late to finish second by 1/2 length.
Her bankroll was increased by $1,700 for the effort.
